  2. Bet its set up for set up for engineer reset for tamper (Default) Not the battery fault that needs reseting but the lid tamper So Engineer code will most likely be required
  3. Last week
  4. Yeah I use a hdmi to usb adapter and then open then screen up in the app there is a 100ms lag though which I can't remove
  5. My pyronix Euro 46 alarm showed a control panel battery test fault. I bought a new battery same brand, same model same mah\voltage. Have swapped it out which didnt seem to complicated, the orange 'active' light clicked back on , on the panel after swapping the battery over, however, the control panel battery test fault is still there. Is there any more that has to be done to clear the fault or have i installed it incorrectly , or is it some other issue.
  6. w3w is highly flawed. If you want something like that use Plus codes (short ones are fine if you have a town). Example:- 9C4VFX5M+647 or FX5M+647 Halesowen
  7. So today I managed to work out the puzzle of opening one. I am converting it to 24vDC ordered a 24v heat element, the existing fan seems to work on 24v Ill let you know if Ive saved £600 (parts inc psu cost about £25)
  8. How's the rest monitor work ? Like a video feed or something?
  9. As many of you know im writing an engineer app that we use as a test monitor, ip camera tool etc as well as job sheets etc Just wondering what tools / apps you find the most useful i can consider adding. ie I added flashing of the network port connection to help find the port in racks that has been well used since being added. Ta
  10. def hik doesnt have syncronos playback meaning if you forward or jump to say 7am only that 1 camera with a red box around it will move forward the rest will continue to play from original time (12am)
  11. Yeah quantum 70 onboard H is an orisec dude tho ....
  12. And the smaller wireless panel comes with WiFi as standard in a kit
  13. Like the other post the PSU is likely faulty. These panels are long obsolete, offer poor security being only 1 way wireless and really should be upgraded.
  14. Did you resolve this problem? I have the same fault. Replacement battery doesn't fix it. Works OK for a day or so but then see cpu battery low. Tested on load and output from psu is 12.7 which is as expected but battery voltage when connected reads 3.5v. Tests at 7.2 when disconnected and holds charge fine. Could this still be a psu fault? Hoping it's not the panel.
  15. Im fairly certain Hik does play back more than 1 camera, when in playback just add more cameras Dahua definately does do it I have just tried it.
  16. if its a high pitched beep check your smoke detector batteries alos check the drawers and cupboards for one that was taken down and forgotten about. Oh and as SWB says get the alarm serviced before its too late !
  17. When was it last serviced? From what you describe it's the modern version with the newer failure tone. If it's been several years since an inspection its very possible the battery in the panel is cooked, which has a possibility of damaging the panel. You now have two faults with the lid off on the sensor and it in tamper.
  18. Hi everyone, my parents have a veritas 8 alarm. Randomly yesterday the sensor in their lounge started doing a double beep every 30 seconds. They took the front off the alarm, now it just says tamper on it. Can't see a battery in the actual sensor. They are hard wired. Does anyone know what the issue might be? Thanks
  19. There is normally only one sensor in a quad, but its broken down into elements, its the number of elements that trigger the sensor. Dual tech are two sensors, normally microwave/pir but these are built for more hostile environments where the ir may be fooled into a false positive.
  20. Also need to bear in mind some stability. When it comes to detectors they all have to balance catch performance vs false alarms. Napco used to be very stable for example but could miss an elephant. Then an alarmcom ir160 wouldn't miss a knat leaving the elephants back. I do quite like optex for that balance. I hate 'pet sensors' cos imo you can't ask a pir to do that reliably
  21. In my case 9 Yr old ahd unit does 4 way playback in app and 16 way if wanted on pc.
  22. Most external sirens are compatible with each other but using the same brand as the panel will mean the terminals are named the same and you may get better feature compatibility. Regarding PIR's they are the elements within the pyro. A quad has a better sensor and lens arrangement dividing the detection area into four elements that all need to trigger together. For a great explanation I always point to this video. Bear in mind it's only explaining a basic PIR not a Quad. You could buy sensors years ago with twin dual element pyro's side by side. So cheaper here then...
  23. I think that 'quad' means 2 sensors not 4, because a single pir sensor has 2 ir detectors, one pointed at the room and a second one not pointed at the room and the electronics pick up the difference between them, when there is a difference then it triggers. I bought one - the thumbnail sized sensor electronic component - without the big lens and case - about thirty years ago, and I guess the second one is just behind the first, or on it's back half. Having 2 as 'quad' means trigger both for positive detection. The sales bumf seem to freely interchange 'quad' and 'two sensors'. I can get the Texecom q20 here for £15.18 and here for £15.25. From here I can see the Bosch part number is ISC-BPQ2-W1 but seems (>£30) hard to get hold of or (>£20) sold out. The optex looks soon to be unavailable and >£20. So I am leaning to the texecom q20 as an available quad wired (no microwave) pir. Do you have to get the bell box of the brand or are bell boxes interchangeable too? Thank you for all your time so far.
