PeterJames Posted March 31, 2023 Share Posted March 31, 2023 Your question isnt clear but I guess you are asking about connecting the fire alarm to the access control to release the doors when the fire alarm goes off. To be compliant you should wire them in series with the locks not into the controller, they should in the event of a fire drop the power to the lock as default. If you wire them to an input on the Paxton and programming the paxton to release the doors, then you are reliant on the Paxton kit working when a fire breaks out which then means the Paxton has to be compliant to BS5839 which its not 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Should be an interface local to each door breaking the power directly like with local emergency door releases. As a newbie or chancer as some might say I assuming you need to fit something in-between the lock and the controller , this way controller has no choice that doors are released ??? The colours in the regs for DC make little sense but I suppose when they specified and then changed them initially that made no sense either... Who will commission the fire etc. I would always expect one for one unless told and confirmed in writing otherwise.
