Help needed with Wiring Odyssey siren to GSM ALARM

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I did read many post on the forum before starting this one so please excuse me im repeating someone else question.

Im linking Siren Texecom Odyssey E1 With Wolfguard GSM Alarm

I don't know if they work properly

Could someone tell me if it's possible to pair this siren with this control panel  and what links I have to follow

Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming that zone on the back is programmable it might work , you also have an onboard relay which could be used for a bell trigger depends on what it does

Never heard of a wolfguard doesnt look like it has a tamper return, the bell needs a negative trigger that I would guess you can get from N/O on the panel; and adding OV to common

I tried but nothing happened except the light of the siren is green

The siren need permanent 12v

Do you mean 12v from control panel is insufficient ?
because Last year I linked with wired siren from different brand with 12 v from control panel of this gsm alarm and it is working great
but with
Odyssey 1E I don't know how or where I am wrong

Seems as though you can't programme as above

So you need to use

0v

+12v

Then the relay for the bell trigger , which drops bell trigger to 0v when siren goes

The tamper could be used on a zone in defence mode , look at page 11 , although not a tamper it can act as a 24hr armed zone , but you would have to mess around to make it work

working great vs how things should work are completely different.

What you mean is you thought it worked but in reality it didnt

worst case you thought it did and relied on it and it didnt

please all that read this use a system but know its limits, if you need to know stuff dont use a free one

I'm lost in the linking

The control panel wired ports:

*) NO -  Relay port (normal open). It will be triggered when the system is alarming.
*) COM - GND port of relay
*) NC - Relay port (normal close). It will be triggered when the system is alarming.
*) 12V - Positive end of 12V output
*) Zone2 - Wired sensor 2: support both NO and NC
*) GND - GND
*) Zone 1 - Wired sensor 1: support both NO and NC
*) GND - GND

*) There is audio jack for siren S+ S-

Siren                               Control panel

12v  ----------------------------> 12V

0V ------------------------------> GND

Bell ----------------------------> ?

STRB ------------------------> ?

what I have to link for bell and STRB ?

Bell and strobe would be tied together into the normally open side of the relay , then common relay to 0v , I think lol

The tamper you need to for now ground it in the bell if it allows so it ignores it , I think lol

 Either the sounder doesnt work, or the panel isint outputting 12v. If you have wired 12v and gnd and the wired bell to gnd it should have sounded

That's the first move to try make sure your bell is working

But wouldn't the bell wait for the tamper to close and he's forgetting that?

I'm trying now with Power Supply 12V DC

12v  ----------------------------> 12V+

0V ------------------------------> -

and from control panel I wired

Siren                               Control panel

Bell ----------------------------> GND

STRB ------------------------> GND

nothing happened when I trigger the siren from control panel or PIR trigger

Where did you get bell? Is bell tamper closed?

Does bell have jumpers you can take picture of

Actually I see the jumpers

Turned on  but still the same

When I wire the siren with 12v and 0V from control panel or from Power Supply 12V DC  it make sound and the green light flashing and than stop wait for trigger from control panel
I tested with mini siren that is work with audio jack (Siren+ , Siren -) it is working normally when there is trigger

something in the linking I have did from control panel to siren is wrong
