Visonic PIR Sensors

Featured Replies

Hi i am currently replacing my old alarm  with a Visonic wireless system but after fitting some of the pet PIR's I am finding they are not very sensitive at all, they do work and I have moved them down the wall a bit but they still don't seem that good. Has any one got any tips or is this normal? Thanks a lot, Gary

They're are not great pickup on the default settings and are useless outside the strict mounting height in the manual.

Do they have a settle down time like the Honeywell , they trigger once in 3 mins something like that?

Sorry when you say default setting is there a setting to make them better?

Its a whole other topic but 'pet' sensors are awful especially the cheap ones

al-yeti, that's what I was wondering

Are the Visonic one's classed as cheap?

You can lower the pulse count but you'll loose the pet friendly mode.

Yes they are one way, so also sleep for a few minutes in normal operation mode.

It's one way and pet friendly I wouldn't expect much guaranteed protection from it.

depends on what you class as cheap. I think so yes, acceptable but low end. A decent hard wired pet tolerant sensor is more than a wireless visonic one. But i dont like them as a theory. If you have pets then peremiter protection is the way to go imho
