Do IP PTZ's need extra power

Featured Replies

Evening all, new member on here so hopefully can get some good info and give some out

Just wanted to find out for IP systems mainly HIK, do the PTZ (mainly DE range) need extra power, like 24 ac or even Hi-POE or is the 16 channel NVR enough to give out power?

Thanks

Model in specific ?

Some require Poe power some don't , if it's poe NVR and Poe camera should be ok

Otherwise what's the full model number

Any him ptz's I've fitted have needed additional power.

The camera comes with either a PSU or Poe injector in the box.

Poe injector is used for?

Lol

Larger PoE Devices maybe PoE+ aka Type 2 (25W) this means you may need an injector depending on your switch or NVR.

Powering the camera as the Poe port on the back of the NVR doesn't put out enough power?

NVR is DS-7616NI-K2/16p, ptz's are DS-4225-IWDE. Probably going to be a total of 3 PTZ.

Think thats more than the NVR can put out really

So NVR 12w per output max fully loaded ?

And seems 18w for the plus 7 with ir

You fully loading NVR? I wonder whats max output per port can't be 12w
