Hi

I have a securetech alarm system (at least that's what is on the control panel)

The system is old it was in when we moved in 17 years ago.

Last week we have  a couple of very short power cuts and now it won't switch on  so any advice gratefully received

thanks in advance

when was it last serviced? But i bet it's the oldest bit of daily used tech in the house?

Upgrade and bin it ,unless you don't really have value for security

I have read on other forums that it could just be the battery any thoughts? Also where would I be able to get the master reset code.

I am technical so changing a battery will be of no issues what so ever, but all I have is our code.

you dont need the engineer code to change the battery. you ought to check the charger circuit etc if it hasnt been serviced correctly

Systems need servicing regularly. It's quite possible the battery and charging circuit have gone faulty in which case a new battery would only be a temporary fix.

If you know what you are doing you can check this but more likely an engineer would recommend replacing the controls and possibly the external sounder.
