July 29, 20178 yr comment_466647 I was bored the other day & was messing at work, using Wireshark I can see everything on my network sending packets of data (whatever) as expected. Our alarm signals via a TCD,oddly I can't see any data connected to its IP ? I can see data when I ping..... Being just a simple alarm monkey... can anyone explains whats happening ? July 29, 20178 yr comment_466654 You wont see all traffic on the network unless you are using an ancient hub or a managed switch with port mirroring, some traffic will be invisible to the machine running wireshark, most of the traffic you see will be broadcast traffic.
