Yes, I was talking about the control panel LED. The keypad needs to be on the bus at a valid address when the panel boots and scans the bus looking for devices. With the Flex, you can add devices and scan for them with menu 72, but you need that first keypad addressed on the bus in order to use the menu to tell the control panel to rescan.

I believe it's now pretty much up and running. I even have the GX app on my phone working and can e.g. restart the system from there (within my own home network, I'll have to configure the router to get the  same functionality from outside).

Many thanks for staying with me here!

Let me know when you ever get to Amsterdam, and I'll buy you a beer (or two :-)

Hello,
I seem te be having a similar problem,
yesterday my alarm started displaying the same issue. Only it had been working perfectly for the past 5-6 years.
The problem now seems that my installer seems to have gone out of business and nobody want to touch this old thing.
I'm capable of doing a reboot (disconnect mains and battery) myself but am wondering if this wil have any influence on the problem.

If you know what you are doing you could, but I wouldnt advise it if you know nothing about alarms and you dont have anyone you can call, or spare parts. The keypad is used to control the system, if you down power and power up and the keypad still doesnt work you wont be able to silence it.

There could be a number of reasons why your panel has done this, if it hasnt been serviced in a while all the batteries will be u/s, it could be a cable has been damaged it could be the keypad has died.

Post where you are (Town) there maybe someone on here able to help  Galaxy is a well loved known brand and most good engineers know it even if its not their weapon of choice nowadays
