I have sensors around my house too, I do like to have them.

Im using HKC wireless PIR Cams with pet lenses in. I do get the odd false alarm but as i can take a picture via the app i dont worry.

However these are internal devices i fitted them externally to test.

We have done this on a roof, two HKC pir cameras. Yes there are false alarms, but because they are on the flat roof not that many mostly birds, and none at night. The positive is the fact that a false alarm has its picture taken and sent to the phone app, therefore the customer knows its a false alarm and just rearms the system. No need to go racing up to the house with his dog and baseball bat

I wouldn't be bothered with something that false alarms, you get complacent in the case of a genuine attack. Especially if it's something you have to manually rearm.

I think I have concluded that outdoor sensors are a nonstarter, thanks for your help.

Can you set it to monitor only?

I should mention that the house is not occupied full time, the staff live in the gate house. They need to know if intruders are on the roof when the house is occupied
