how would you wire that onto this panel? 

 

 

i didnt think keypresses were on the speaker. just e/e and alarm tones.

but its an old panel now

You need an internal sounder module which you wire into the external sounder outputs, this will only sound when the alarm is in alarm

IIRC it follows the on-board speaker which sounds every time you press a button

Bell output or pgm output having sounder fitted not speaker , and leave speaker terminals with internal speaker if you want it 

Just turn the volume pot down?
