I've changed the battery in one of the PIRs. The display is telling me that I have a tamper fault with this PIR and to press tick to clear it. I've done this several times but can't clear the fault. I'd appreciate some help

Model of alarm ? And pir ? Do a few posts so you can upload pictures

 

 

But could be you need master or engineer  reset, or you dropped a spring , or tamper broken etc 

Check the lid on the pir

I would guess the lid isn't located on the backplate correclty

If it is wireless there may be a sleep time on the PIR.

Install the battery and leave the room for a few minutes then enter room and trip the detector to send the tamp restore back.
