Hi All

 

I'm proposing to install a 2 camera system on a customers garage, but he want's to view it on the TV. So my options are:

 

Get both IP cameras onto a PoE switch and transmit them on a mains Ethernet link - like the Netgear jobby and put the NVR adj the TV, job done.

 

OR

 

Get a HDMI transmitter and send the video from the garage over to the telly.

 

Suggestions?

id go for the HDMI route as if the link fails the unit in the garage will still have viable recordings

I'd go NVR in garage in a secure cabinet and a Spot monitor decoder in the house via the ethernet link. 

As above NVR should then always have recordings 

Spot decoder will make it expensive no?

    That was my next question 

    Cctv wholesales were doing wee cheapy nvrs that they said work well as spot decoders.

    Don't buy an ACTi decoder you'll pay over £250 for one.. but they are good if you can stretch..
