Galaxy G2-20 Double Knock

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm a newbie here so forgive my ignorance if this is an easy one. I have a galaxy panel and the customer would like me to fire a small relay to power some led lights when a certain zone is activated with a double knock attribute.

While I'm reasonably happy with firing the output I'm at a bit of a loss as to how I set the zone up for double knock operation. I work mainly/exclusively on Risco and Gardtec equip and the terminology within the honeywell programming manual doesn't seem as straight forward with regards to the double knock feature attributes for the zones.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks 9651, I've already been in touch with Honeywell and been told that exact thing. So hey ho it'll just have to be standard operation or nothing.

Thanks anyway

G2 has no double knock, must be the only panel out there that doesn't.

good don't know why any would, it breaks reg, hides issues and should ever be needed

I don't agree any panel can be programmed incorrectly or non-conforming.

IMO equipment should be as flexible as possible.

Installers should know the regs and more importantly the companies should teach the regs to those installers.

I agree re flexability bit have you ever used it?

Yep but not for any customers, I would remove and docket any DK attributes found on a maintenance.

Found a one way radio garage PIR on double knock a few weeks back, wouldn't operate correctly as PIR would sleep after one knock.

Seen contacts on DK too, again all down to engineers being properly trained.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
