60 Ipc

So we have a site that will start off with around 30 network cameras but in the next year or two will probably grow, maybe to around 60

As the site is quite remote, they have **** BB, no fibre there.

I'm worried about how much bandwidth having all the cameras on his network will eat up. I'm thinking it would be better to wire the cameras as its own network, and potentially have it on its own dedicated line/router as he wants remote access.

Sound like a plan? or is there anything else to consider?

id calculate your total bandwidth too as not all switched will handle it on the backplane. you might also need 10GBe to link your switches.

1.3's i think we're going for

Was hoping to cat 5 each camera back to the switch. There is another outbuilding which we were going to link via fibre.

However not sure if the cams would be better in cat 6....

I'd cat6 the lot and a fibre link to the outbuilding.

How remote is it? Wasnt there supposed to be some government thing increasing broadband to rural areas?

Only the percentage the ISP's can make money on, at the moment.

remote enough, not to probably have decent speed for a few years id say (no 3G even)!

So we thinking the best way would be as i said above, own line and router for remote viewing?

I really dont fancy jabbing it on their office connection as i dont want the mither of any issues it may create as it grows.

As this is in the design stage ive got a few  options as i see, Mielstone type software,  two 32 way NVR's (think HIK do a 64ch unit now?)

Other than Milestone, is there any other PC based software to consider?
