is there anything i can test on the board with a multi meter??

Yes, the voltage at the detectors and at the panel, for a start.

thanks will check voltages at sensors and on the panel in morning and report back as im not really sure what readings  im looking for

i imagine it would be easier yeah, and cost  a fair bit of cash i dont have.

 

tested the voltage at the sensors and its jumping arounbd all over the place,whats the next port of call???

checked voltage at board at all places i can see... pic attached 3 showing a solid 13.5 volts ish the other is jumping about between 7& 8 same as at the sensors

It looks like your 12v and 0v is connected wrong. Shouldnt that black wire be in 0v?

Is that the ones giving out the wonky voltage?
