matthew.brough
I'm not sure I understand your question exactly. The configuration (by default) will use the IP path as the primary comms/polling method and poll the GPRS on a lesser frequency, I believe about every 10 minutes but if the IP fails then the GPRS is stepped up as it is now the primary path. We have out own profiles where we can poll both paths at equal levels. To report IP fail it has to see 6 consecutive missed polls so 3 minutes and then the MCT will expect the GPRS to call in, if it not it reports dual path failure giving a catastrophic failure in around 3 1/2 minutes. www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
sixwheeledbeast
Got you, so what's the idea behind fitting grade 4 comms in every site? System is as high as your lowest grade , over kill? Just curious. Grade of Comms shouldn't necessarily be the same as rest of the system. In most cases it should be higher IMO.

norman
Agreed, nothing wrong with g3 comms on a g2 system. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
