Where does one draw the line?, at least with a headlight you can see trouble ahead, but not be accused of carrying an offensive weapon!.

I'm pretty damn sure in a court of law they would use something like ' A torch is for casting light, to see in less than favourable conditions, yet you choose to carry a weighted baton with a bulb at its front, I'm sure there are less obvious and lethal ways to turn night into day'-and they'd be right unfortunateley, you yourself Matt have basically admitted its the reason you carry it, true?.

Hence the rozzers used to use them raised above their shoulder like a shotput, ready to bring down and strike

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Ambo ones are same length but yellow plastic and with dangerously hot LiPo batts always on charge...

Weigh virtually nothing. A few of the car drivers have personally bought 6 cells... Wonder why :)

So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

The shop assistant said I should be careful as the police would see it as an offensive weapon but I don't see how a torch could be?

Any views on this?

Yes!!

What the Police see and what the Law is are usually two very different things.

There is a guy on YouTube that's quite funny called the love police who enjoys testing PC plods knowledge of the law. (Which seems to be generally not a lot)
