Texecom 48 Com2400 & Comip

Featured Replies

Hi,
I have just installed a texecom Elite 48 & with thanks to this website & reading the manual over & over finally sorted it. The system has a Com 2400 for sending sms messages to my mobile & a Com IP for accessing it via the internet/ mobile app, but I am having problems.
I first had my mobile number as the SMS centre but all it would do is ring my mobile, bt have said that my line is set up for sending text messages but I have no way of testing this.

So I then reset the comms page using the default Vodafone number 07785 499993 as calls centre No1 & left the defunct O2 as No2.

The ARC No1 prim tel No is my mobile (ignore the protocol options these were left blank although ticked in the screen shot).

I have played about with wintex & the keypad but with no luck, all I want it to do is text me if the alarm goes off so I can the access it via my mobile app.
That is the next problem I cannot get the com IP to get online all I have are 2 LEDs showing that I am offline & not being recognised on my local network.

I have swapped around the com ports, rebooting the panel but nothing.
I have attached the comms page setup.

I am starting to lose the will to live it all looked so easy on the website.

Thanks

And as you have discovered, it isn't. Getting things to work on a LAN/WAN can sometimes take some skills not present in the usual diyer.

In regards to sending SMS messages, this has been covered on here many times as to why the idea is not a good one.

Stuns me how many still want to use it. I wouldn't trust it to send me a Facebook notification

Do you get any?

Plenty, but they come via email.

I'm not sure that's to do with the SMS though James . . .

I hear Arf uses a TAP based SMS service for all his FA notifications?

So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
