Something Cool

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I see something cool today, a caretaker i know showed me that when he sets his intruder alarm at his school when it sets the lights go off in the reception area and main atrium and coridoor. I am guessing this is done threw a relay?

A certain panel can also do this via macros so the turning off could be x minutes after the system has set so you get chance to lock up and in the car before the lights go out.

If you ask your alarm company nicely they might give you a set of relay contacts for your electrician to wire to

In fact I'd go so far to say if your alarm company won't do it free if charge as the panel already has clean contact relays in then they are no good and you should look elsewhere.

If a client called us out to provide a junction box with the low voltage connections in next to the panel we would charge for the jb and time.

Yes but his alarm company are going out week after next to do some other work so they could just be kind and leave a pair of cables out of the panel whilst they are there.

Of course, I meant in like a 8 way JB or something.

After all those £150 call outs I think the OP might have earned a JB.

thats fine but we dont charge £150 call out fees, id suggest to anyone that if you are you should consider switching provider
