In-House Activation Alert?

Featured Replies

Hello

Re,    Home 4 Camera Security System.

Could anyone please advise, if there is a system commercially available in UK, which has the provision

to sound a warning alert inside the house, if and when any one of the cameras is triggered by movement?

Can anyone please advise, of a system having an automatic battery backup, to ensure that the system continues to function in the event of a power cut?

Many thanks,  Pete.

Its doable but not out of the box. However intruder alarms have this built in.

Any professional system could be installed to do this, however, it's not the done thing due to potential false alarms and therefore crying wolf.

Systems can be run via a UPS, unit size depends on how long you need to run with no mains.

as 6WB,

your better using external rated detection, using 'motion sensing' can be. a nightmare. it works by noticing changes in pixels, sensitivity is set by adjusting how many pixel changes are required to be taken as a movement.

you can set up various areas by masking, but say you do this in bright sunlight, at night where passing cars lights can change more pixels, add in waving bushes, tree's, auto floods etc you perhaps get the idea.

as for standby backup, a small UPS might work for about 10 minutes, bigger the UPS obviously the longer, but they tend to get expensive. you need to know the power consumption of your kit to know the suggested standby time.

If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!

Our DVR will do the audible indication we can even zone the picture so you only get audible indication if there is movement on the path or a particular area anywhere on the screen. You could use an UPS to keep the DVR powered but you would need a very big one for anything over 20 minutes

Very many thanks to all for the replies.

Will have to give this more consideration.

Thanks again,  Pete.
