Whats The World Coming To?

Featured Replies

Cannot fault it.

Surveyors and end users need a tad more info than is provided at times but top kit.

One site was so kerplucked it needed 1500 mtrs from PSU to Gate and Door Station. Stabilised it  with a spare core, with video to 12 homes.

They say 30 mtrs tops.

Why I love it.

And hate the shiittee people do to it.

The problem is, Its like anything.... We cant always blame the equipment when an installation fails, It could be for a number of reasons.

Like the issue I had witht he above school, Lack of the product, the system design and poor installation will all lead to issues with any manufacturers products.

I have an apartment block local to me with 42 apartments. It also has Comlit installed, I got the nastiest photos you could ever imagine. This whole install is dead

We have spend a week there tracing cables and toning everything out with very horrid results,  Where does it all end

I agree.

Takeovers can be a PITA, but some equipment needs to be respected.

Some you would rip out without question.

Comelit and Nice are not ones I would associate with the last statement.

Not wanting to hijack the thread but talking of Comlit stuff, just wondering about the security of their prox stuff, fitted a few comelit prox readers, specified by client, but all fob data is held in reader and all the reader has is NO/NC contacts that then interface with whatever access control you are using.

Surely that is not a secure system, short two cores on the reader and you're in!-readers I normally use have a remote panel and shorting anything at the reader will at best blow a fuse and not allow access.

Also if a Comelit reader is destroyed/removed, all user data is gone also, not just a case of replacing reader and alls up and running.

Just wanted a bit of feedback tbh-Comelit prog all the fobs before despatch, any views on the pro's and cons-obviously there may be be more than one Comelit reader than the one my client has specced for us to use.

I stand to be corrected on the comlit side, but I detest nice stuff with a passion

You're not going to like my opinion of Nice then, At the risk of it going off, I will keep me gob shut on that one. Haha

For me, automation has to be BFT, shear quality and reliability with all their range. I do use CAME also, but all new installs I design and install are bft

I  think our likes and dislikes have now to be taken to the trade side.

We all have our preferences.

I'm a BFT fan. Also just installed a telguard gsm intercom, didn't want to at first due to cost, but its the best bit of kit I have found in years. So many features, and the obvious no lock connection in the call units.
