For all you folks out there who run their own company, does your holidays differ between engineers, admin and sales or are they all standard.

 

I am just asking as I have just found out that the company I work for all holidays differ with engineers getting the least. Is this common or is it just the company I work for?

Everyone gets the same holiday here based on service length.

But on call is an issue as engineers are on call during bank holidays etc. I wonder if your place considers that?

Work a Bank Hol you should get a paid day off in lieu.

We do same as James and keep it the same based on service to avoid any office politics.

We just pay double time for bank holidays.

But we dont do either. Callout is the same regardless of day/date. Everyone has to do their time on.

 

But callout rate is low im taking christmas this year

LOL,  was seeing who would notice that,

A fair rate would be time and a half for the 9-5 part and a bit extra on the call outs with a day in lieu.

 

I said fair, discuss.

Yes if we are on call on a bank holiday we get a lieu day but as standard we get 4 days less than admin and 5 less than sales. I don't think this is fair.
