Adt Alarm - Accord Xpc Keyfob Won't Unset Alarm

Recommended Posts

We had a ADT Alarm for 3 years monitored.

After 3 years we paid a company to make it so we had the external Bells and deactivate the Phone part.

Also paid for a years maintenance till last month but the company got took over and we never received any info on the new company and there is no answer on the number we had for them.

Basically we had a powercut a few weeks ago and since then we are unable to Unset the alarm from the Keyfob (We just get 2 beeps like a fax machine sound) and have to type in the Code.

Not a problem normally but with a small child it's a pain esp as the Keypad is in the Living Room.

Does anyone know why the keyfobs won't unset the alarm anymore and a good company to take over maintenance (or even if it's worth it )

Thanks

In the event of a power cut your alarm should switch to an internal 12v battery and run for 8hrs approx.

Something is not right with yours that's for sure.

Here is a list of companies in your area -

My advice is to give some a call on Monday and ask the cost of a full system service including the cost of a new 12v battery should it be required.

Not only should this get your system running again but give you acces to their services in case of future issues.

The System all works fine apart from the Keyfob part - Does this have it's own power supply in it ?

It's a small White Box about 10cm Square with a Red light which is still lit.

It'll not be the alarm system that needs reprogrammed it'll be the standone fob reader that's corrupted, basically they loose programming now and again and need to be defauted and programmed up,they trip a zone on the panel that is programmed as keyswitch to either full or part set alarm, once the reader is reprogrammed the panel will start to work as before.

Unless it's faulty then you'll need a new one.
