Hi all

I started using the veritas R8 for budget installations and I use the Galaxy and the excell for everything else. I am working towards S.S.A.I.B recognition and this may seem silly but is the R8 ok for smaller installations. (ssaib ok I mean)?

the last company i worked for were ssaib approved and we used to fit veritas r8's all the time for domestics

We are an SSAIB registered installer and we use R8 for all budget installations they are fine, just make sure you check what grade each model is!

R8 is g2 as is the excel.

standard veritas g1, so long as SDP states the grade your fitting to is what tha kit is graded at, no worries.

I thought R8 was grade 1. R8+ is grade 2

None of us are perfect ...... and the best ones don't claim to be.

r8 has a very small event log - this may not meet recommendation from insurance companies that require a certain size log.

the cp8l from risco- can be a grade 2x panel, but has a 250 event log and they now do the software to meet EN regs.

Asa boev it all depands on the required grade. If your Risk assesment decided you need grade 3 then you need a grade 3 system, what grade does your risk assesment need?
