Why bother, he probably didn't understand what you were saying and took it as a short, rude reply.

That's how I read it too, and, as you know, I've been here a while and seen a lot - with my "amateur" hat on.

His first words were "Hello - this is my first post so be gentle with me!" Nuff sed.

PS He's probably a COMPUTER Systems Engineer, so fairly intelligent and logical, totally capable of interpreting reasonable advice but not knowledgable about the specifics of alarms. So help him out or keep quiet!
