Apologies if this is in the wrong place. New here but will be having a good look around as there a few jobs on my list which I'm sure the info here will help with.

I'm looking for some recommendations, I want to install a basic house alarm and cameras. When I say basic, I'm thinking a couple of door contacts, maybe a passive or two in shed and bike store and two cameras.

The cameras would be located to look down the front drive and the other down the side of the house to look at the back/bike storage.

I'm pretty handy and can set up tech but I'm lost on the best options.

The yale system looks pretty good for the price, but are the cameras ok? Any local storage options etc.

One system/app to do it all would be nice, but it's not needed should a separate camera/alarm system be better?

Running power to the cameras isn't an issue, either mains or ethernet. Currently, I think I'd prefer powered over wireless.

I don't want to be paying monthly storage charges.

    Thanks in advance.

For the alarm recommend texecom ricochet kit  with a smartcom

Cctv I recommend qvis for Cctv

Hiya everyone. Managed to find a brand new unused menvier TSNETLCD and just fitted and all working as like first installed. Fitted 'MENVIER TSNET PROX PR1' too but any fobs tried could not activate them. Engineer said probably the Menvier TS690 not compatible with 'PROX PR1'. is this the case and any way i can get the proximity fobs working?

I believe only the 900 and 2500 could run prox tags

    Hello All.

I was wondering if someone can advise or guide me. On my previous powermax system, whenever I armed away or disarmed, there was a voice alert to give me the system system status. Also when I armed away there were countdown beeps. Is there a way I can do that with my powermaster pm33 panel? I cant seem to find the option anywhere.

You help will be much appreciated.

I'm trying to get my head around setting up a Euro 46 to do area set.

The scenario is a small factory that has decided to sub-let the upstairs of an office block. These will share a common lobby area.

I need to reconfigure the panel such that the tenants can only unset/set the sensors in their space (hence leaving the main factory set) but the factory staff and unset all the zones.

The bit I don't get is.... If the tenant unsets the panel & then the factory staff arrive later...... what triggers the second entry/exit to cause them to enter a code to unset the main factory?

    Also, the EURO46 has areas 0, 1, A, B, C D.    Whatis the difference between areas 0 & 1 and A, B, C, D?

Thanks in advanced for your help - I've installed many a panel in the past but this is the first time I've need to configure one for anything other than full set!

    Adrian

What you want to do is called partitions

The easiest way to do this is to assign each zone to either set A or Ser B then give the customer a code that can only set that area

When the doorbell first came out I tried one and they are nothing like the advert would have you believe, they didnt even work that well locally. Since then I tried cheapo Chinese doorbell 7 out of 10, Hik 4 out 10, Daha 6 out of 10., Ring I could only give 4 out of 10.

When people ask me why I always quote hardwired if I can, my usual answer is additional annual fees due to batteries, but I will be adding you cant jam hard wired

The one I had the best luck with was the Google nest one

A member of my team at work had an incident last week. 3 people tried to steal his car (mx5)

However most of the street have ring doorbell instead of cctv and all of them didnt work during the incident.

This isnt the first time ive suspected jamming but is this on the rise?

They are incredibly easy to jam I found out  one of my sites had a microwave on the other side of the wall which caused the doorbell to not work

    Hi All

I am in the middle of awaiting a new alarm been installed , never had an issue apart from the tamper circuits going off when new keypads was fitted by the electrician a while ago and the tamper circuits was bridged out to stop the alarm going off , I had the power off today and the alarm kept going off showing tamper alarm and inputting the code only stopped it for 1 minute. just wondering what caused it , not a problem as power back on and it ok now

    Hi,

I have inherited an old ADT alarm system and no contract (accord xpc). Unfortunately overnight the low battery noise has woken the family up 4 times and only stops when I use the fob (downstairs!)

Is there anyway of turning the noise off for good or at least for a few days till I get someone to change the battery? Other systems it seems you can use the # or off buttons…but that doesn’t seem to apply to this model?

I have checked the accord xpc manual - but nothing there unfortunately.

Seriously any help v much appreciated.  Losing my mind at 5am ?

    Enter code into keypad
