It will, i read the T&C's for the cloud, it basically says if it does not work tough. Kinda of what I expected.
A bit like firmware then.
-
whats the controller its connected too. looks like a mag swipe reader. i believe (never installed mag) that you need to know what track its reading on the cards.
Yep, most are generic but as you mentioned you do have to watch out. Also lo co/hi co can throw the odd curve ball.

And here's me thinking a diode helps protect against reverse polarity.

Arc see a moth?It would silently alert the ARC who would see it was a moth and not disturb anyones sleep.

Hi Cubit,
I really don't want to get into an argument about this, it was not my intention when asking the questions.
As I see it, and please correct me if I am wrong, but the following analogy applies:
- When you go into a electronics store to buy a new DVD player, you don't have to be an expert in the latest technology, in fact which technology suits your personal needs the most (be it cost/image quality/sound etc etc), to be able to go home and connect the system up and for it to run without any problems
I see the above being relevant to my requirement. I am competent to connect a system up, whether it be plug and play or requires some form of setup, but my knowledge of the individual components is lacking.
I'm now realising that i'm unlikely to get a helpful response anymore to my queries, which is a shame. I also do not understand the attitude of not wanting to help, as it will result in the decline of the UK security industry?!
As previously mentioned in my industry (or life in general) if someone is after a bit of advice I am more than willing to help. When they start wanting complete projects to be completed then that then requires some form of agreement, but that is not the case here.
Thanks for the help so far though, I can take it elsewhere to get the final queries answered.
Flawed argument.
You walk into a shop and ask for advice, the assistant has a motive for helping you, no help = no potentil sale.
In your scenario, how are we helping iun the decline of the security industry?
We tell every tom, dick snd hsrry how to do it what reason do they then have for our services?
So, somewhat polar opposite to your scenario.
And, like others have said, too many variables to provide a simple answer. You could of course pop into 'that shop' and get all the advice you need, then you can pay the nice man when you buy his products.
-
How do you know you're competent if you have no idea of what components are needed, and by definition, how they work.
I'm good with hammer and chisel. But it doesn't make me a stone mason.

Some might say too much jaw !
Sitting on the fence eh?

true a mate of mine was right into that sort of stuff, had to hand his passport in when england played, banned from all football games for life, company director for a multi national co,nice lad hard as nails and liked to fight on a weekend with like minded lunatics
But like most of them, would **** themselves if the national call to arms went out and they had to fight a proper battle.
-
I know. B-)it was a tongue in cheek answer mate.

If one in circuit. Its ok, only blows the fuse.
Comment from the op earlier suggested he didn't expect a supply to be protected.

HI RFS !
That's where ive seen them !!
thanks for your help but not knowing where they are from doesn't help lol but thanks anyway.
hi cubit,
thanks for your reply too. ive seen and used the unistrut etc but I have seen a neat solution but carnt see it on the net. will try QED in the morning
thanks
The poles can come with complete kits, including girder mounts. But unistrut and girder clamps always saves the day.
-
QED, Preston.
-
Girder fixings are bog standard, as are the bottom ends.
Have a look in most supermarkets and you'll see them. You'll need girder clamps and unistrut.
You'll probably need to get plates made up for the 360s

Someone's conspicuous by his absence

I take it thats one to avoid then.
Oh dear.

Not quite Adi. What I have done is question Matt, usually, when he has a pop at them even though he doesn't use the stuff.Yeah man, i have noticed you waving the risco flag over the last 2 months or so.
Risco quite clearly have issues, lots of them - all from experience. I never exagerate issues, just say it how it is.
I dont do honeywell at all, got a few galaxy's on service but thats it.
Clearly, some seem to have problems, but by the same token, there are those that don't have a problem.
Funny how some companies are castigated for a problem whilst others seem to be allowed them.
Like I say, and as you know, I don't major on intruder, but based on the info on this forum with regards to product reliability, there is another popular brand I'd never use - not that they'll worry or lose any sleep over the fact
-
How would they have a copy of NSIs COP without being an NSI company?
That's not a standard though.
-
Me?How come over the last couple of months you have been sticking up for Risco, you didnt use to?
Never had a problem with it, but then I don't major on intruder.
Its Honeywell I can't abide
-
That's alright then! How can you rely on something that goes down so often?
Like I said, more reliable than BT.
-
There is also the use of the BAFE logo in there somewhere.. I know it says we're working towards blah blah
But when the BSIA consider it OK to mislead...
