Actually I only referring to the agility 3 , they havnt ironed this model out yet, galaxy isn't the only panel I install.
Risco still employ Muppets though!
Again, i find their staff, on the whole, pleasant to deal with and very helpful. It would also seem you've never dealt with their trade counter..
As for employing muppets, i'd say Honeywell have the monopoly in that department.
-
And at last years IFSEC, the Risco stand was constantly one of the busiest on the day i visited.
Suggests it's still a popular brand.
-
you install the Agility 3 ?
So come on then, tell us all your findings on all these problems you seem to have with Risco.
Odd because you seem to only bang on about Galaxy.
I've only ever had one problem with a Risco device and that was the other week. Wireless door contact/shock high current draw. Killing the battery in a matter of weeks.
However, in general, the battery life of their wireless product i'd say is pretty good.
-
With all due respect, what is it you were expecting?
People to rush forward inundating you with work?
-
I think cubit is a risco fan. Cant be sure though but i thought so.
I don't major on intruder but Risco ticks the boxes for my needs.
-
If you mean Honeywell, then no. Won't go near anything to do with them.@Cubit so not your system of choice then...lol
I guess if I started to get complaints on a few installs then I would be dubious but i am doing testing at the moment, want to make sure I am happy before I install something different.
Mind you how reliable is it, find firmware updates are a joke sometimes its like 2 steps forward and 1 back. Update this but you need to update something else which you cant so it doesnt work anyway...
But hell its all good fun and gives us something else to moan at?
Risco, not had a problem.
-
Saturday night sauce?Batteries are a big issue, installers around here always having to go back to replace batteries or dis able the external sirens due to faults, its rubbish
And costs to much in comparison
Honeywell is much better than agility and I am sure some dont fit either product hint hint Forgot to mention they Muppets to! Ie disco I mean riscoForgot to mention they Muppets to! Ie disco I mean risco

Problem is the minute usual commercial factors apply to me the bbc looses its usp?
Yep, there's some good drama on ITV but it's fckd up by the adverts. Every 12 bloody minutes.
Lose the will to live with adverts
lol the licence pays for the bbc as thats how its always been funded and as for USP, the licence fee doesnt sell it for me at all, just a necessary evil.
I am sure they can work in something that doesnt run to overkill with ads every 5 minutes like many commercial channles do now, between programs and start to reduce the licence fee.
have you looked at the rates for advertising around core shows and sponsoring programmes we could seriously reduce the licence fee, if they had a few shows sponsored and a break at the begining and end of each show, as I do like a brew whilst watching the box
Just watch itv then.
But surveys show people still watch BBC as a preference - afterall, it's not compulsory (nor is having a licence)
-
But whats to stop another search engine linking the relevant info?
Once the info is out there...
Besides, won't google just link to it again?
-
How many firmware updates in the past year?
Less than the sparky brand - lot less. in fact, less than one.
-
I agree. It makes a very useful door stop.
I don't do a lot, but as you know, i don't have a problem with it.
Cubit gave an inch, Arf took 4mm...
Sure it wasn't 6mm?
Oh, hang on, he couldn't make his mind up either.

I must confess, prior to the current venture did much the same at the expense of being with the family. Now my girls nearly 12, I regret that. Cards in and time off would have done nicely in hindsight.
Those of you here that are either self employed or directors, could you ever go back to employment? I couldn't even if I was offered the same money I get now with all the greif.
There are jobs cards in that can take over your life without you realising too.

The bell. (generic term)

The problem isn't the badge,
Its the $hite installers and companies that hide behind it .. A company is only as good as the installers, and its only as good as its last installation....
We all know that a good reputation can take years to gain, yet can be destroyed by just one job
Hence the issue of ethics.
You have them, some don't.
-
You're always going to get it though,
There is another SSAIB approved just a few miles away from me, Not going to name the 3 lettered company, but easy to find on the SSAIB website.
Believe me, Nobody has seen rough until you've seen their work.... They get work purely on price only
They WILL undercut any quotation, Say and do whatever it takes to get the work.
The company is so feckin rough, I have picture proof of it and have reported some of it as I thought it was my duty to do so
When quoting within Staffordshire, I will always ask the client who else they have or are receiving quotes from before we waste our time
If they tell me that XXX is quoting, I just tell them straight and don't bother going out to it, its a waste of my time
Who in the right mind will install a Grade 2 commercial for £500 inc vat, Including monitoring.... All with Risco $hite
They are advertising grade 2 systems now, fully installed, for £300 inc Vat,
Not sure what happened, The customer jumped ship to us and we ripped out the Risco Poop and installed a Premier
Lets just say, Every single end of line and alarm resistor was inside the panel, No SAB battery or Tamper " Linked out"
Un-tampered external shunt key installed direct over the alarm pair of the detector " Keyswitch was plastic internal model"
Just goes to show the badge schemes for what they are.
And the values of ethics.

I think we have a terminology problem between us, I can't be asked and give up. You win.

You assuming solid wall? - I ment screwed to the metal back box fixed to the wall thus the back box would of been earthed from the screws holding to the box.
Backbox secured tight? No one said it was loose.
Metal rawlplugs unlike the plastic ones everyone uses? Does this make a difference most wall are not very conductive?
I think you'll find your replies somewhat contradictory and still making assumptions.
Partition/studded wall?
Back box tight or loose? Irrelevant due to fixings
Rawlplugs? you say it is irrelevant due to wall not being conductive - yet you said earlier, "...if the socket was screwed to the wall the metal box would of been earthed."
-
I know this is not going to go down well, if the socket was screwed to the wall the metal box would of been earthed.
So did removing it cause the live to touch the box?
Should you turn off the circuit if removing the socket from the wall?
I know we don't but should you complain that you got a shock off something that should of been dead.
You assuming solid wall?
Backbox secured tight?
Metal rawlplugs unlike the plastic ones everyone uses?

This should be interesting

Classed as live.Would a 5 second buffer class as not live?

i haven't watched Tv since 2007, its utter garbage, lies mind spam, lots of gardening an cooking shows,
camp presenters that are allegedly funny, the stand up comedy isnt worth the effort anymore so theres nothing on there worth watching, they have been told an i have to re-tell them every few years i don't watch it, an if they open my locked gate an come in,
then they will be getting done for trespassing on private land, theres nothing on there i want to watch its boring an full of bs
how do you know?

But the vocals are for the customers benefit - and many seem to like it.
And, as it seems to be topical, surely Risco are allowed to upgrade firmware to resolve any glitches...or is that that just a privilige bestowed on Texe?
