  2. It's the EU adopted opinion based on criteria of article 5.3 for session cookies. Additionally, if anyone has any gripes or concerns relating to my sites, simply contact me. It would never be my intention to dupe or defraud anyone. I am a registered professional and would do my utmost to resolve any issue. I have hundreds of happy customers, so must be doing something right.
  3. Trying to understand the statement above. Did you connect your phone line to the T connection ? Your solution ^^^ sounds a bit odd as these are outputs and your fault is an input.
  4. You have nothing to lose if you're going to have to swap the board out anyway.
  5. You don't have to acknowledge the tamper if you are in engineering mode. You just need to 'esc' out and get the 'checking tampers' message. If you still receive the tamper warning for 0004, then the contact between the 'T' and '0V' terminals is not good. If you have a meter, then check these pins to ensure there is no voltage differential present. Ie. 0V. If you get 0V, then the board may be faulty, or be in some wierd 'Flex' state.
  6. I only really use the TCC8M, but they are any button to register. If you look at the portal, is the device transmitting anything Ie. flashing the RF LED when you press ? If not, then battery or device may be at fault.
  7. I was thinking more of the internals if someone manages to hack past the standard protocols / features offered. I still stick a bit of tape over the camera on my iMac as nothing is 100% secure. Not that I'm doing anything inappropriate on it mind you
  8. It's been a while since I've done a full install, but I agreed to fit a domestic for a friend in need. Jeez, I had forgotten how much work it is and why I write software now. I just can't imagine doing it day in day out. I was shattered after it. An 8 zone install on a Galaxy G2 with Ethernet in a bungalow and it took 8hrs solid working on my own. The house had a previous owner DIY install, but it was a mess and more of a hindrance, so I had to rip out and bin wires and all. Felt a bit sorry for my friend as the companies she had out to re-do the plumbing and re-wire electrics hadn't done very tidy jobs. Respect to the guys fitting tidy hard wired systems.
  9. 12% of current customer sites are currently outside the UK. Polling is new to the current platform, so many are just starting to realise the capability. I think that any who want the grade 4 comms would probably step up to a professionally installed and maintained system. I think video verified is great, but don't like the idea of cameras internal to domestics. It opens up a whole new avenue of privacy issues.
  10. I was talking about the system and monitoring contract on the system that was getting a response time of 3hrs from the *** alarm company. The speed of IP based comm's is instant, so response times are moot. I know that you said your ARC would provide a grade 4 equipment £240 over 2yrs contract for self monitoring with unlimited SMS/Email & Operator assisted keyholder contact which is pretty decent. In fact, if any of my customers want 30 second polling opposed to 1hr on their self monitoring, I would probably point them in your direction. Are you handling accounts outside the UK yet ?
  11. I'm saying that the complete system is only as good as its weakest link. Grade 4 ARC signalling combined with a 3hr alarm company keys-held response time isn't worth £40 a month. By self monitoring my own home, I believe that I can do much better than that particular service.
  12. Agreed James. The Galaxy panel and modules themselves do not include any SMTP service or way of configuring such, so cannot reach out to any email server on the net.
  13. The latest was just two weeks ago. I am contracting in an establishment which is monitored by a national (no names). Someone sets the premises alarm thinking nobody is left in the building. Over an hour later the alarm is triggered (confirmed) while staff member is walking back to the reception at 20:00. The ARC phones the building reception - the employee answers the phone and tells the ARC that they are an employee - no ID, no proof, no mechanism of validating. The ARC accepts this and dispatches a non-police response which turns up at 22:45. With a response time of almost 3hrs what is the point?
  14. Selfmon meets the needs for a growing group of customers/installers who want a low cost form of signalling which also benefits from hourly path integrity checks and remote keypad control over IP. My own experiences of approved / proper ARC response have left me thinking that it's a complete rip off.
  15. I'm surprised at you Matt. With your constant whining about getting professionals in all the time, you're decorating and removing wall sockets on your own??? Shouldn't you be getting suitably qualified tradespeople in rather than DIY'ing it yourself ?
  16. Ah okay, I see a kit for half that on SW. Anyone have any comments on the Ethernet interface ? How secure ? AES/RSA???
  17. Doesn't that come in at £600+VAT though ? Must admit, it would have to be pretty impressive for me to spend that on a domestic panel.
  18. I suggested the Dimension, as the OP wanted a Flex. I would always choose the Dimension over the Flex. The firmware is hardened. I'd agree that the G2-20 would do everything, but with the 2.5A PSU, the Dimension will drive the sirens without the hassle of external supplies. Also for DIY go to Ebay. There are plenty good panels being ripped from defunct businesses or takeovers. The panels are rock solid anyway!
  19. On-board 12 zones with the Flex. If you want to expand the FX20, then add a RIO. If you want wireless capability, you cannot mix RIO and RF portal on the FX20 - The Flex is buggy as hell around the virtual RIO config when adding wireless. My advice would have been to get a Dimension 48 over the Flex panels, but since you've bought already it's too late...
  20. Yes, if you want Honeywell's GD app, you will need to buy a Dimension or Flex panel. You will also need to buy Honeywell's own £200 Ethernet module, as they have no current app option to allow the app to work on non Honeywell hardware or even some Honeywell hardware like their GT20 and GT40 Chiron based modules. I'm working on compatibility with the low cost module, but it's cypher based, so not easy... The Honeywell app is not PC based, only iPhone or Android. It's a bit buggy with my test Dimension panel and keeps complaining about groups being set when they aren't. Not sure where support comes from for it, as the installers I have talked to get shrugged shoulders from their Honeywell support partners when they ask any questions (esp where compliance with regs is concerned). Also, the non Honeywell keypad app is for the whole Honeywell Galaxy range (excluding the old 8+ and 16+ panels which never supported Ethernet). It only provides a software keypad, but is fast and gives full control. The reason Honeywell app doesn't work with G2 is that their Ethernet module E080-2/4 does not provide the feature set when connected to the G2 panels. The LCE module does just that. No matter which module/panel combination, SelfMon supports them all for SMS/Voice/Mail and although the Android app is available (as iPhone variant isn't finished), selfmon offers a browser based 'On demand' web based keypad which can be launched on any device with a browser. You don't need to worry about static IP's or Dynamic DNS either. Stuart.
  21. G2 metal case dimensions are 300x255x115 (excludes G2-44+ which is slightly bigger). I'm assuming electrics are in some sort of cupboard above the door out of sight. If so, then probably okay if it can be fitted neatly. Ethernet enables IP based communications over your broadband connection (Android IP keypad app and browser based keypad software is only available with the LCE module on the G2. You'll can google this). GPRS - These are only compatible with the G2-44+ panel on the G2 range. Providing programming and SMS over mobile network. Note they cost £200+ for the modules alone, then you need to maintain a SIM card. RF Portal - Enables wireless detectors on zones and radio keyfobs for setting/unsetting without going to the keypad (you still need a keypad though). ECP bus expander will not be used. The Flex case is plastic and a bigger footprint than the G2. The Dimension case is about twice the size of the G2. I suggested the G2, as you can get them new on Ebay for half the price of the Flex. You'll need to go to an on-line retailer for the Flex. The Flex is most recent and has more firmware issues than its elder brothers.
  22. Yes, monthly PAYG with £1 min allowance. No, they are not ADT panels. Brand new with pretty recent stock firmware and docs. At first I thought they were being offloaded by Honeywell in order to switch to the Flex, but that was over two years ago now. Almost 1000 panels later. The price includes next day postage too. From my own experience, the service has been excellent. It's a pity they don't branch out to other items.
