Green party have ruined Brighton everywhere in town is 20mph (most ignore it and the police said they wont enforce it) then theres the bus lanes on most of the main routes into town. 50mph have been dropped to 40 40s are now 30. The parking charges are extortionate £3.40- £6.00 per hr on the sea front

  7. There have been one or two management buyouts down this way. Some have worked out better than others, if I was gonna do it again knowing what I know now I would still have gone it alone, it's not for the weak hearted but the benefits once you have made it far outweigh the poop you have to swim through to get there. Management buyouts are a good way to start up a business with like minded people and a good way for your boss to retire.
  8. DDA can be taken too far, I am all for equal opportunities for all, not putting keypads at dda height could be discriminating disabled users. However, putting the bell box at ladder height could also be seen as discriminating to disabled DIYers. Having a keypad at all could be described as discriminating to the mentally disabled The keypad can be moved if a disabled person moves into the property the same as steps can be converted to slopes. I think its daft to install systems to suit less than 8% of the population especially when the property is not occupied by anyone disabled.
  9. There are several ways you can do it the main two are: 1. Buy an established co, to get the loan you will have to put your house up as collateral, depending on what you pay it will take 5 or 10 years to pay off. I would not recommend this method unless you have some experience about employment law, h&s, running a business, organising staff efficiently (Not as easy as it sounds), bookkeeping (Its alright having a bookkeeper but if you dont understand the figures yourself they will suss you out in seconds and have your trousers down) You need to be familiar with all the standards its expensive when you dont install something to the correct standards and you have to put it right. You should also be able to sell, and when I say sell I mean make a profit not a fiver (This is where most go wrong they see their boss selling a system for £800 they think they can do the same job for £400 as the kit costs £300 they end up taking longer than they thought the job goes wrong and they have to go back and it ends up costing them money) remember it costs around £30 for you to go anywhere and do anything thats phone, van, fuel, insurance, labour sick pay, holiday pay, time whilst your van is off the road, 2. Become a subbie, the same rules above apply on a much smaller scale. It can be done many people here have done it, many alarm co's are up for sale its a case of separating the wheat from the chaff its ok to buy a co thats not making any money so long as it has potential for making money, but as a beginner you need to be looking for one that is making money, they are much harder to find and much more expensive. One of my ex-engineers is a subbie this week he is working on his house no work
  10. I reckon they are watching us all, the Chinese DVR is a Trojan horse. No other country will be bailing Greece out there is no motive to want to, if Russia wants another country it takes one of the ones it used to have. China wont get involved they are waiting quietly on the sidelines on most things. Im an atheist but I do know somewhere in the Bible it says that the yellow man will inherit the earth, I am not superstitious either but the way China is so cool calm and collected most of the time I can see some logic in the Bible prediction
  11. They were celebrating that the no vote went through as if it would make a difference, I think they forgot they still have no money in the banks and the creditors wont give them anymore. So whats next default on the loan? Print their own money like they used too, it would be worthless anywhere but Greece but holiday makers would have to buy some and the Greeks with their mattresses stuffed with Euros will have buy some, and the Greeks that have money in the bank that they cant get because the banks run out will have to accept the new Greek currency, then Greece may get the Euros back to pay off their debt
