How many mortgages do you think I had, my first house was only £37k I paid that off as an engineer, my next house was £78k so I needed another mortgage I nearly paid that of when I purchased my 3rd house, everytime I pay off or nearly pay off I buy a bigger house and move thats what mortgages are for isnt it?

My dilemma exactly, but when I used to engineer myself I was always working weekends, it paid my mortgage off

Depends on the customer, i work on numbers, if the numbers dont add up I do nothing. I do not mind paying for value, if I buy a meal out and pay top dollar I do expect decent food

LOL Aint that the truth Its all down to desperation, none of my chaps want to work weekends, so I have to ask them how how much they would want to do it. I also explain this to the customer, but If the customer is desperate enough they agree. It would be cheaper to get Gaz down to Sussex from Sunderland for some jobs

I wish ! engineers working weekends name their price, I then add a profit and tell the customer (hoping they wont shout at me too much)

I have so many schools now they are becoming a problem, every half term they all want stuff done, more cameras, new access controlled doors, new intruder alarm panels, automated gates ect ect ect. The problem with this is engineers with kids want time off during half term, and subbies are the same. I agree with your comments though Andrew spot on for paying and they never or fk around so long as you look after them.

I price it accordingly if I dont get it I didnt want it, if I do get it its worth having for both me and the customer. Sometimes its worth paying a bit more

Nothing boils my pss more than engineers in the office, I wont have that, if there in the office they are not screwing stuff to walls which is what I am paying them for There is only one engineer I allow install electronic security in my house

But you wouldnt get a true result For example I havent had any domestic wireless installations in the last three or four months, but I still managed to keep 14 engineers and two subbies busy.
