Interview advice?

Featured Replies

Ok lads, got an interview tommorow afternoon and it would'nt be wrong to say I am absolutely sh***ing myself. ANy advice for me? I've only ever had two proper interviews and I'm confident I would have passed the first one even if I'd fallen asleep halfway through. I'm gonna do my best (of course) but I can't help thinking I'll under sell myself and mess it up. It's only a trainee position, but it will still be a "proper" interview. I know all the stuff about making a good first impression etc, it's just i don't really know what to expct.

The wife says...

Research the company, prepare some likely questions and answers, Act confidently even if you don't feel it..the moral is prepare, prepare, prepare.

'Failing to prepare is preparing to fail'

Good luck.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

'The Wife' sounds like the type to have you firmly under her thumb!

:P

If you don't know......ask.

Sorry it took so long to reply I had to wait till she went out! :ninja:

Good luck, just be confident, show them you're really keen to learn, don't say erm, don't slouch and ask lots of questions about their firm and what they do even if you know some of the answers already, it shows you're interested in what they're about, not just after a job.

Did all that! More or less, anyway. I think it went really well and he gave me a load of forms for the vetting process to fill out, which I'll drop off tommorow.

Anitdode I missed chance to reply, but spoke with our Ben McKenzie today for help on this. His one big tip was "dont take Mum or Dad to an interview". Sorry if i was to late.

Customers!

I honestly dont know what to say. In the UK the interviews are pretty easy. Here they make you do sycometric tests etc or however you spell it. (One too many beers). Its all **** if you ask me. I strongly believe that if you are capable then they should give you the chance.

PS Good luck.

cheers Kev

Not sure if that was supposed to be sarcastic or not (I find sarcasm does'nt tranfer well on the internet) but I did'nt bring him along to "hold my hand", he was just giving me a lift in the car as I'd never been to Manchester before and Ben decided to let us both in as we were about half an hour early... Anyway, hope you had a good laugh at my expense.
