Not sure if that was supposed to be sarcastic or not (I find sarcasm does'nt tranfer well on the internet) but I did'nt bring him along to "hold my hand", he was just giving me a lift in the car as I'd never been to Manchester before and Ben decided to let us both in as we were about half an hour early... Now I was late in replying to you and for that im sorry but I do have a job. Now as it is Ben made a number of recommendations but the one I mentioned stuck out. Apparently you interviewed well and were quite near the top of a very large list. I sincerely wish you well.

I'm very sorry Jef. It was stupid of me to jump to conclusions like that. I've had a stressful day (looking for a job when your halfway through moving houses and your car's knackered is'nt the best mix of things) but that's no excuse to snap like that, especially when the advice being offered was genuine and sincere. Again, I hope there are no hard feelings between us Jef! It was a genuine misintepretation on my behalf and not a personal reflection on yourself or Ben.

Did you get the job though for being enterprising and taking initiative?

nope.

I was still an apprentice and deceided that i wanted to do something else.

The job was with Swinton Insurance who are now no more.

So in the end i'm glad i gave him my coat as i'm very happy at what i do now and if i got the job,it would have shut in a few months after anyway.

Got the job! I start on Monday. Handed my notice in for my Saturday job today. That felt pretty good
