Not neccesarily, you can get a couple of cheap ADSL lines and a firebrick and do some line bonding.

Oh, and a piss poor 469 Kbps (58.6 KB/sec) 'cos we've got a network constructed using wet string round here. I can't get 1Mbit which is annoying as it was offered as a free upgrade.
