Yes the alarm system will need to be re-programmed so you can use it as a bells-only system, and this will remove the requirement for reseting after every alarm activation. We have quite a few members from around your area and I feel that a few may leave their details or contact you later with suggestions.

Hi and welcome andy,

Firstly the remote reset facility is only required on monitored systems, secondly this is a engineer programmable function and can be removed quite easily with minimal fuss, however it would probably require your system to be crashed and reprogrammed. (not as severe as it sounds!!)

Im confident that someone will be able to help further should you post your general whareabouts.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Thanks guys. Sounds like the problem is solvable without the anti code so just looking for a suitable engineer to perform the (non-drastic) crash and reprogramming. Out of interest (and to help when getting quotes) how long should a competent engineer take to perform this job?

We're located in Chorlton, South manchester if any of the local members want to get in touch. If not I'll hit the yellow pages tomorrow.

Hello Andy,

We are based in and cover South Manchester, and would be happy to look at your system for you.

If you would like to arrange a visit, please call me on 08704 42 55 24.

If you don't know......ask.

Bit awkward to say really, but not too long (about an hour), it depends on how much re-programming from default you will need such as part setting options, zone naming and any other special requirements you may have.

BTW: Brian C is a good lad, and he`s not too far from you, his details are above.
