Newbie question...PIR compatibility

Featured Replies

Hi,

My ancient Accenta8 alarm panel has given up and I plan to replace it with a Texecom Premier Elite 24. I have swapped all the original PIRs for Honeywell IS312 as I decorated each room. Are PIRs basically standard and compatible with most alarms or do I need to replace the PIRs if I install the Texecom panel?

Thanks

Chris

Should be compatible if you wired as double pole with commoned tampers.

I'd probably replace them.

Thanks for the quick reply. Just been an expensive month - car, washing machine and alarm in the same week!!! Trying to keep costs down 🙂

What's your reasoning behind replacing them...reliability?

You don't have to unless they give you trouble , although it's probably more of DIY product now with it's problems

Just wire them double pole or correct resistors in place latter best way to go

If you get the same manufacturer as the panel you will have EOL OOTB.

I don't really rate those cheap Honeywells, some nice quads will be much more reliable.

Much better down the line to have end-of-line than double pole to diagnose faults.
