Recently purchased a property and discovered this abacus alarm system. After trawling through a lot of paperwork, we can find no details of the alarm system or even a code to set it! Wondering if anyone can guide us as to how we can reset the code at all.

You need an engineer to default the codes for you, great panel in its time, but 30 years old now.

act quickly  get the old shitty alarm system replaced before the council apply  to get it Grade II listed....
