Back in the late 80's / early 90's.... Everybody & their dog would have used a 9800 in a commercial job, ADT or Shorrock, regional co's, independent co's, electrical contractors or private jobs Mr Veritas God Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/42729-start-an-alarm-manufacturer/page/5/#findComment-483881 Share on other sites
Gabs
Lots then, do they still make the 9800? I have only seen this type recently, the older 9800 keypads do look awful, though. The more modern ones look better Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/42729-start-an-alarm-manufacturer/page/5/#findComment-483882 Share on other sites
MrHappy
The earliest accounts I can see (for free) are 1995, turnover of 28 million back in 1988 ish - this was cutting edge Mr Veritas God Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/42729-start-an-alarm-manufacturer/page/5/#findComment-483883 Share on other sites
Gabs
So they were very big then, I wonder why/when it declined. I guess it was, although they could have tried to make it more 'sleek' Were they the first microprocessor alarm panels? Gabs
So they were innovators. Was it CQR to make the first 'Modern' bell box? where everything is all in one neat little box? Or was it someone different? Gabs
Interesting, I am still trying to understand the circuitry inside a bell box, the idea of one using a microprocessor is interesting, I will try to design my own, easier than a panel. I think the Novagard is the only microprocessor controlled bell box?
