November 5, 200421 yr comment_30445 There has been a bit of talk recently in the media regarding the UK power supply over the comming months. Basically, because of under investment in the industry they may not be able to supply demand during the winter and power cuts have been predicted. Anyone know any more than this? like how likely power cuts are and how long they may be for? Also, besides stocking up on batteries, what more can we do? [solar backup charge circuit anyone ?!] Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/4191-the-power-supply/ Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 November 6, 200421 yr comment_30502 Scaremongering as ever, though there's a long-term problem for suppliers to fill. It's actually more gas than electricity, but a lot of electricity is generated using gas these days. There are agreements with heavy (and I mean HEAVY) industrial users that their gas (and electric) gets pulled to support domestic users. November 8, 200421 yr comment_30697 It's good that we as a country seem to be giving alternatives a go. I've seen a few of these on my travels and think they look quite gracefull in small numbers. I believe the CIS building in Manchester is also having a refit where the outer panels of the service building are being replaced by solar panels. If you don't know......ask.
