Are you saying that I should change one of the PIR's to a latching sensor and reconnect as it was? I don't know what a latching centre is - could you recommend a suitable unit please. Get someone that knows what they are doing as by the sounds you have had 2 sensors unable to work for 20 years! They were connected in parallel, I have tried each of them separately connected to zone 4 and they both work. Is there a way of connecting the unused PIR into the system? If its complex, disruptive and/or expensive I may decide to leave one of them permanently disconnected. The house is fairly well covered and it would still be better than it has been for the last 20 years. james.wilson Posted March 3, 2017 Share Posted March 3, 2017 as I said wire it correctly and it will function, but you need a latching sensor in one place to know which one triggers. Best way is to have a panel that has enough inputs for your detectors. I agree with your comment regarding builders/alarm specialists, it probably also applies to home owners/alarm specialists but sometimes finance is a consideration.
