Just upgraded a analogue system we put in years ago with luxrite AHD kit (which they don't stock anymore)

Trying to use the original rf modulator so can be viewed on all tvs still, but cant get it to work.

I believed that Ahd Cvi and Tvi are all analogue and only hd sdi being digital so don't need a digital modulator?

I'm using a hdmi to composite lead from dvr to modulator.

 

Any ideas would be appreciated.

 

 

If you are converting HDMI to a composite signal then the analogue modulator should work fine.

Is this the Luxrite LHD DVR or the SPro Six?

Also AHD CVI and TVI are analogue but they are not composite BTW.

The fact that your source is DVI or TVI or analogue or HDMI or photon fibre optic is irrelevent to your modulator.

 

Unless the people with the TVs are happy to switch their sets to analogue mode just to view the camera, you'll need to upgrade

to a digital DVB RF modulator for the TV feed.

If it's as simple as pressing the TV/DTV button on a remote, what's the issue?

The image quality will not be HD but it will work like before.

Depends on the customers. Block of flats, try explaining that to granny goggins x 6 flats.

Esp. if it involves turning off the argos freeview box and then changing her old sony TV from AV1 to tuner, etc...

But yes I have been in that situation explaining how to switch HDMI channels for the sake of the cost of a separate monitor.

most installs will also need an attenuator as this thing blasts the rf out at volume 11

its LHD Dvr. the spro 6 is the small one isn't it?

quite happy to press tv button on remote then back to hdmi input(freesat)

I was under the impression you need a digital modulator for a digital signal ie hd sdi

and a normal analogue modulator for most cctv applications.

so if I use a digital modulator on Ahd then the picture will work and improve?

That is definitely not what you need. Hdmi camt give out an analogue picture without a pricey converter box, that is just a chinktat nonsense lead. If the tv has freeview get a dvb hdmi modulator, or run an hdmi or cat5 and use an hdbaset extender. 

The technomate is a decent wee unit as long as  you can take into account its high rf out, otherwise the edision version has a variable software controlled attenuator built in but its 60 quid dearer and an external attenuator for the technomate is only a couple of quid.

i'm not familiar with the system q product.

technomate has noticably lowerlatency which makes a difference if you are trying to use a mouse via the modulated feed.
