Texecom Premier Elite 48W - wireless PIR not triggering alarm

Recommended Posts

no my point was/is

If I do the same with the wired PIR, I get event logs of "Alarm - Zone 003 Guard Alarm" followed by "Confirmed intruder" and "Confirmed alarm" then "Bell active".

why is zone 003 causing confirmed intruder

unless as above its set to only ring on confirm and you are actually triggering 2 devices?

Okay from the comments posted (thanks by the way!) I've changed the PIR's into "AUTO" mode instead of Hybrid.

I'm thinking the comments about a single device/zone not triggering a confirmed alarm is the problem - my expectation is it would set bells active.

Are you suggesting that if somebody breaks into a single room (i.e. lounge) the PIR would detect this, but not set bells active because only a single sensor has detected it ?  Bit pointless if thats the case!

I've done another capture in WinTex of the events

The events below show the alarm arming, and then me leaving the system for a couple of minutes to settle.  I then activate the zone 009 PIR (Toilet!) - the action is registered by the alarm (active) but no bells.

After a minute, I then activate zone 011 and the alarm activates + bells + confirmed alarm.

This second activation shows zone 009 being activated again, but no confirmed alarm.

Assuming this is the correct way the system is supposed to work - what are my best options for securing a room - multiple PIRs ?

hi

if the panel is programed to bells and sounder on confirmed this is used on commercial or large domestic systems  mainly on a police response system   confirmed alarms  need two detectors to activate  in one area to generate an audible alarm

an example is one detector in a shop by the front door and a 360 disc  in the same area  if one  activates the alarm send an unconfirmed signal  if both see movement then the bells ring and it sends a confirmed alarm

if you have only one detector in a room and you want an audible alarm  you need to change the option in wintex  under system config to bell 1st alarm  and sounder 1st alram

hope this  helps
