Afternoon all.  Sorry if this has been asked before but what is the legal requirements with regards to cctv viewing and the backup of cctv data. Is a sia licence required by a engineer if viewing or backing up cctv in commercial buildings.The reason I ask is because Most of my companies work is in health centres/council buildings and a new building manager on one of the sites says we need the licence to carry out the works. 

Unfortunately any man and his dog can install and view CCTV and its up to the end user to be sure that its compliant, or at least thats the way it seems looking at some of the set ups ive seen.

nothing about installing it, but using it yes.

As it says where guarding is permanent? Then licence required, I don't know allot about mind you

 

 

it doesn't say you need a licence to install it, only those using for a certain criteria but that's as far as my interpretation goes.
