Polling would be when the signalling equipment sends a regular signal to the ARC so a polling fault is when the signalling equipment fails to send the polling signal

what is a polling fault, simply a case of DT giving a tamper?

I'd assume it would be comms/ARC side of things if someone said polling to me.
