Smoke Detector Swap Out

Featured Replies

Hi,

I had a water leak which came through the ceiling and destroyed my Menvia M12 4 in 1 detector. I sourced some Apollo Series 65 off a friend as replacement but I can seem to get them to work. The eurosec CPX alarm panel just reports fire zone 006 when i try and do anything on the keypad and the alarm sounds. Should these be compatible with my system?

My wiring is as follows:

red: +ve

Black: -ve

Yellow: Zone +ve

Blue: Zone -ve

Green and white: Earth/tamper

the series 65 only seems to have L1, L1 out, L2, R-, and earth connections. It also has a diode between L1 and L1 out so not sure if I need this also?

Any ideas on if this detecor will be compatable with my alarm and if so what is the correct way to wire it?

Thanks!

No you need a 12v base with relay. That head and base is designed for a conventional fire panel

M12's are good but I only fit Texecom Exodus these days for 12V

So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

OK many thanks, any suggestion on a compatible cheap smoke only detector?

you want a cheap one or a good one lol
