CAT7 seems a bit overkill?

Looking at the price of CAT 7 seems like it is I'll go for CAT 6. DS-2CD2020-I cameras and DS-7608NI-E2/A NVR is this kit any better or is that pants too? :teehee:

I don't fit Hik at the moment but yes Cat6 will be more than enough

Another question, currently all my switches, router and everything that's wired to it are gigabit as I do a lot of video streaming, backing up etc. between NAS, TV's, mobiles and laptops. Would plugging in 4 100mb IP cams over 2 switches run the whole network at 100mb?

Not if you have a switch, as opposed to a hub, and I'm not aware of any 1000mbps hubs...
