June 23, 201411 yr comment_386419 I know this has been asked before but no one really gave a clear answer and it was a couple of years ago. What is the average daily sub contracting rates for doing cctv / intruder and access. I have own tools, unmarked vehicle, full insurance, own teeth etc etc etc. Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/36927-self-employed-sub-contactors-rates/ Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 June 23, 201411 yr comment_386425 Depends on the engineers skills and what they can work with, I used to charge £250 - £300 a day + vat, not subbed for long time though Local guy we use for fire, got him nailed to £140 a day and electrician at £150 a day Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/36927-self-employed-sub-contactors-rates/#findComment-386425 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 June 23, 201411 yr comment_386426 I know this has been asked before but no one really gave a clear answer and it was a couple of years ago. What is the average daily sub contracting rates for doing cctv / intruder and access. I have own tools, unmarked vehicle, full insurance, own teeth etc etc etc. Probably never answered as it's not really an answerable question. It depends on the company you're subbing to and the relationship you have with them. What else is chargeable on top of the rate etc. We've worked for less than our normal subby rate before but we've charged mileage and had hotel cards etc. Then we've also subbed for less to try out a national but there was no other charges covered so after 2 jobs (which they thought were the best they'd seen for a long time) we binned them as it wouldn't pay so pointless. Sometimes we've taken on work with low rates because I know we'll do it in a fraction of the hours so will pay in the long run. It's just not possible to give you a number. June 23, 201411 yr Author comment_386430 Im new to the subby game, and all the firms I have worked for have never used them so I am just looking for a rough figure. I don't want to scare people off by being too expensive, however im not going to work for peanut's. . June 23, 201411 yr comment_386431 If you have a van and all tools I would say £175 local work and any work beyond 20 miles £215 The last sub I did back in January was £190 a day and was for the 5 days. Just make sure you get everything in writing and a P.O for the job detailing what it involves etc and when you will get paid. Even if the job involves a close friend etc get everything in writing and signed off. ! June 23, 201411 yr comment_386447 As James said. Always obtain a PO outlining what the work is and who is providing the equipment, hours of work, total cost of job and terms of payment. Without a PO we would not do any works involved untill received. !
