Flash Upgrade Galaxy G2 Panel

Featured Replies

Probably not the usual DIY installer question but here goes ....

Ive got a galaxy G2 panel which is pretty old and Im looking into fitting the SelfMon Ethernet Module I found via the forum.

How can I get hold of a newer firmware version and is flashing the system possible ?

Thank you.

yeah I was just about to say that they sound expensive / impossible to obtain!

'till the next question ...

I think it would be cheaper to buy another g2 board with latest firmware. Any reason you want to upgrade it?

As I was looking to add the SelfMon ethernet/Rasberry Pi module and it requires a higher firmware version than the one I think I have got.

Ive just fired the panel up and hooked on an RKP and it says

Galaxy 500 V2.16

Am I right to assume that I have Firmware V2.16  ??

'till the next question ...

Thats not a G2, thats a galaxy classic. A very different animal to the G2. Correct you have v2.16 so I assume you have had that panel a long while.

This will probably be an EPROM chip that needs replaced to upgrade the firmware. I have the latest EPROM's for the older Galaxy 18 and 60, but I'd have to dig through boxes of old panels to see if I have a newer 500 panel firmware.
