Alarm Fault On A Veritas R8 Plus

Featured Replies

What checks did you do though?

There had to be something incorrect.

Is this the same panel from  the start?

I have said in the previous posts what was checked.  There was nothing detectable. If it was intermittant the fault was not there when I checked. I changed the panel plug it into a 13 socket, it worked for 3 days no fault.  Soon as I connect it to there spur the fault intermittantly appeared.  It had to be the spur and its associated cabling. Nothing could be detected when the fault appeared with the spur, the supply was working again.. The fault has gone since there electrician rewired the spur back to the consumer unit. If theres no fault present when I did the checks what can you do. Can't act on the problem if there was nothing there.

Anyway thank you everyone for help and suggestions. I will put it down to experience.  I had to get to the bottom of it. I had to know. Can't just walk away.

Originally the customer wanted me to take it out and refund the money. The customer said it was Bull S**t when I suggested it was his fused spur supply and would not originally allow me to investigate the problem by illimination.  Turns out it was his spur supply that I didn't fit.

Glad you found it and thanks for the follow up.

So, question is.

How much profit have you made from this job and how much have you lost whilst tolerating the 'wonderful customer'?

I'm so annoyed. What can you do?.  If they provide a spur what can I say, i'm going to rip it out and put my own in.  I will have to put some thing in my term & Conditions, over this for future.

T&C`s mean nothing fella, just remember the fault process next time you get the same problem (and listen to them that have been doing it a lot longer than you have - not much is new to us)

to be fair to the lad,he stuck at it and got it sorted, probably cost him in real terms,he didnt walk away when it could have been easier and cheaper to do so..all's well that ends well..
