October 5, 201213 yr comment_291535 Hope someone in the know sees this, I want to put in place a voice and music greeting system (run by BT etc I guess) but I want to install and configure my own PBX system. Does anyone know if the greeting system needs a particular kind of PBX to work (is there a special comms protocol?) or will any old SOHO Panasonic, Orchid etc do the job? October 5, 201213 yr Author comment_291549 Thanks for the shout, are they fairly straightforward to program? By memory you can program them through a USB port but also need a Panasonic telephone (not a problem). More to the point, do you know if the Panansonic system will work by default with a greeting message service? October 10, 201213 yr Author comment_291934 A computer could do that? Never heard of asterix but will look into it. Trouble is it's going to be limited by the number of lines available I imagine whereas offsite will be infinite or lots anyway.
