Adding Sensors To An Hkc Sw-1070

Featured Replies

My new house has an HKC SW-1070 system installed, with a mix of wired and wireless sensors, each assigned to a unique zone. I want to add a couple of wireless sensors but don't have a manual. I also don't know if adding sensors requires an engineer code.

The system also has a GSM unit installed and I am interested in it's ability to handle remote switching of lights and heating.

Can anyone help me out with some info, or point me at where I might find a manual?

Hi Gewitty welcome to the forum the 1070 is not a DIY panel and to add additional detectors you will need to speak with your installer. The good news is the latest software will be available very shortly and you will be able to control your alarm system from your andriod phone. Iphone is also on its way but Apple are delaying the app

Thanks for the reply Peter. I'll check out a local installer.

When you say that the 1070 has a software upgrade coming shortly, what will this provide in terms of using an Android phone? I have an HTC Wildfire, but at present only use this for text message control of the HKC system when I am out of the country. Does the Android app expand on the remote control capabilities, and if so, does the panel need a wifi connection in order to work with it?

From what I have seen the Andriod will have full remote control including remote status, arm, disarm, log review, with a input output module you will be able to switch lights on and off control your swimming pool heater (handy when the weather changes) switch on anything you like. The lastest software has wifi too though you may need additional parts to upgrade for this. Should work ok with the wildfire my wife has the HTC desire very similar phones, I havent seen the software on a phone yet only pictures but it looks really good.

I agree, HKC are a great panel, in my opinion one of, if not the best on the market. its not hard to add sensors but you do need the engineer code so as stated above you will need to get your local installer (who has access to engineer code) What kind of things are you looking to control from the GSM?
